It’s no surprise that I love a little beachside town called Santa Cruz.
First of all, it’s where I grew up. Secondly, it’s a super laid back, chilled out, and beautiful place to explore – could it fit my personality any better?
A couple of years ago I wrote this post on 6 free things to do in Santa Cruz, CA, and I wanted to revisit my love for my hometown on here.
I recently went back for a visit to Santa Cruz (to my mother’s glee) after a long time abroad, and it was exactly what I needed after traveling on the road for awhile. I just bought a plane ticket today for another visit in mid-July, and I couldn’t be more excited!
The two things I love most about Santa Cruz are the redwoods and the ocean (and how close they are to each other), so I wanted to highlight those two aspects while I take you through my hometown.

Personally I loved the Redwoods the most though it’s certainly a difficult choice as there are some amazing beaches! However, hiking through those enormous trees was a highlight of my time travelling up the west coast of the USA!
