TL;DR: The best ways to celebrate Christmas in San Diego include attending the annual December Nights festival at Balboa Park to see elaborate light displays, watching decorated boats cruise by during the San Diego Bay Parade of Lights, and shopping from local vendors at the Petco Park holiday market.

San Diego locals get pretty festive around the holidays.

From kicking it with Surfin’ Santa on the beach to festive Christmas lights, pet parades, and everything in between–there are tons of events on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

If you, like me, come from a colder climate and you’re wondering about the temperature in San Diego at Christmas, you’re in for a treat.

Through December, the weather remains as sunny as ever in Southern California. San Diego Christmas weather means temperatures that rarely drop below the 50s.

So, if you’ve been wondering where to go for Christmas in San Diego, then read this list, pull out your tackiest Christmas sweater, and head out into the magic. The holiday cheer awaits you!
