Not only does Devil’s Teeth Baking Company offer yummy people food at its dog-friendly bakery and brunch spot near Ocean Beach, but you’ll also find house-made dog treats for your pup to eat.

Given the location next to Ocean Beach, it’s the ideal spot in San Francisco to pre-game your morning walk with a coffee and a pastry.

The Special Breakfast Sandwich is the MVP here, filled with everything you could want in your morning meal.

The cinnamon roll is excellent, too, and goes nicely with a chai latte. Also, grab a few of the adorable shark-shaped cookies for later; you won’t regret it.

Zazie

Best restaurant for great French food in a dog-friendly neighborhood setting

The crowded, yellow-walled interior of Zazie Cafe.

Address: 941 Cole Street, San Francisco, CA 94117
Cuisine: French
Best for: Brunch and dinner
Don’t miss: French toast
No reservations
Menu

Zazie has been operating in the San Francisco neighborhood of Cole Valley for over 30 years, remaining in the hands of long-term employees. It initially became famous for its French-inspired brunches served on a beautiful dog-friendly patio.

These days Zazie has expanded beyond French Toast and mimosas, and now has equal renown for its dinner-time service.

If you’re visiting for brunch, try the pain de mie French Toast, or the Miracle Pancakes, which feature different weekly flavors.

Although dogs are welcome throughout the week, there’s a happy hour on Monday nights that’s special for pooches. Bring your dog for $10 off any bottle of wine, get free treats for your furry companion, and banish those Monday nights’ blues.

The warm welcome and great food make this one of the best dog-friendly restaurants in the Bay Area. It’s also tip-free, with all staff receiving benefits on top of their wage, so you can eat there and feel good about it.

Palm House

Best restaurant for hanging with friends and family on a sunny Saturday

Spend a weekend afternoon on the Palm House patio in the dog-friendly outdoor seating area with a slushy cocktail or a punch bowl from the full bar at this Cow Hollow hotspot.

Not only are water bowls and dog treats available for your furry friend, but your dog may also be lucky enough to receive a lei (as if dogs weren’t cute enough already).

Check out the Bark Bar at Palm House, where your canine companion can try Huli Huli Chicken or Loco Moco. If you really want to treat your pooch, there’s also merch you can buy– Pawm House dog hoodies are now available!

If you’re looking for pet-friendly restaurants, Rose’s Cafe is an ideal breakfast stop on your weekend morning walk through Pac Heights and sunny Cow Hollow.

Toronado Pub

Best bar for drinks with your pup

Address: 547 Haight Street, San Francisco, CA 94117
Cuisine: None
Best for: Late night drinks
Don’t miss: Beer
No reservations
No menu

Toronado Pub is a bar that doesn’t serve food, so it *technically* doesn’t qualify as one of the best dog-friendly restaurants in San Francisco. However, it is one of San Francisco’s best dog-friendly bars, and allows dogs inside, so it’s on the list.

It’s cash-only and over 21s only, but there isn’t a better selection of craft beer in the city of San Francisco.

This dog-friendly dive bar has an extensive list of 40 beers to try, all with your dog by your side. If you get hungry, they’ll let you bring outside food too.

Estrella Taqueria is right next door, and Iza Ramen is around the corner, so there are plenty of options for takeout nearby.

El Rio

Best bar for courtyard cocktails with your furry friend

Address: 3158 Mission Street, San Francisco 94110
Cuisine: None
Best for: Drinks
Don’t miss: Margarita
No reservations
No menu

El Rio is also a bar and not a restaurant. To be exact, it’s a queer community hub/bar, inclusive to all, including dogs, making it one of the best places to have a good time with your furry best friend.

If you want to eat, bring in your own food, and take your pup back to a table in the lush dog-friendly patio, where quiet relaxation is occasionally disturbed by enthusiastic dice games and rounds of ping pong.

It’s the perfect dog-friendly place to chill in the afternoon with a margarita and your furry bestie. Bear in mind, however, that there’s often live music in the evenings, which won’t be at a comfortable volume for dogs, and the outdoor patio can get pretty packed at night.

As it’s a bar, you must be over 21 to enter.

Tacolicious

Best restaurant for casual Mexican cuisine

Address: 2250 Chestnut Street, San Francisco, CA 94123

While they have other locations, the Marina location isn’t far from the Golden Gate Bridge, and pet parents can sit at a table in the pet-friendly outdoor seating area.

Grab one of their fabulous margaritas at the bar while your pup drinks water from the complimentary dog bowls and chow down on Baja-style fish tacos.

Tacolicious offers a dog-centric happy hour on Wednesdays from 3 pm-6 pm. Margaritas are discounted, with doggie menus provided. Your dog can pick from chopped sweet potato, chicken thigh, or unseasoned, antibiotic-free ground beef— an all-around great offer.

Beretta

Best restaurant for delicious thin-crust pizzas

Address: 1199 Valencia Street, San Francisco, CA 94110
Cuisine: Italian
Best for: Dinner and weekend brunch
Don’t miss: Pizza
Reserve a table here
Menu

Beretta epitomizes Californian fine dining, serving up elegant Italian dishes without pretension. Hungry San Francisco locals flock here for the thin-crust pizzas with intriguing toppings like potato and artichokes (although the simple Margherita pizza with burrata is equally good).

While potty-trained dogs are welcome indoors, the lively atmosphere is buzzy and loud, and the dog-friendly sidewalk seating is more chill. Grab a table on the street where you can sit with your dog.

If you’re heading to this Italian spot with friends and your dog, order a bunch of small plates for the table to try a little of everything.

Also, don’t miss the Tiramisu, which is made in-house. This elegant spot is ideal if you’re looking for dog-friendly dinner restaurants in San Francisco.

No reservations
Menu

Pizzeria Delfina specializes in New York and Neapolitan-style pizza, and the long lines prove its popularity with San Franciscans (and their dogs!).

You’ll find dog-friendly outdoor seating on the sidewalk and in the parklet if you’re dining with your pooch, so be sure to snag a table there.

Choose from red pies with a rich marinara sauce or creamy, cheese-based white pies. Wine and cocktails are available from the full bar.

If you can’t decide on a drink, ask for a “rosé surprise” and let the server pick a bottle to pair with your gourmet pizzas.

Or try one of their creative, signature cocktails, which are great alone or with pizza.

Best dog-friendly pizzeria for Roman-style pizza

Address: 2175 Chestnut Street, San Francisco, CA 94123
Cuisine: Italian
Best for: Lunch and dinner
Don’t miss: Margherita with burrata
Reserve a table here
Menu

Delarosa, located near the Golden Gate Bridge in the Marina, is perfect for an anytime pizza and creative cocktails from their full bar.

Bring your furry friend for dog-friendly dining on the sidewalk patio under one of the bright orange umbrellas.

The pizza is Roman-style, which means a thin, crispy crust. The burrata pizza is an excellent example of what happens when you allow simple ingredients to shine. The meatballs are also a solid option if you’re looking for comfort food on a foggy day.

Order the Bartender’s Special for a delightful sausage-and-olive pizza.

Sit outside the glass building on the green lawn with your dog, and enjoy a house-brewed beer in this urban oasis sandwiched between the park and the ocean.

The location alone makes this one of the best dog-friendly places in San Francisco. There are four dog play areas in Golden Gate Park, plus Ocean Beach is a few steps away.

The emphasis is on Greek-inspired comfort food made with fresh, quality, local ingredients. Warm up with a bowl of Avgolemono, an egg-lemon soup with rice and chicken, grilled Halloumi cheese, or a classic Moussaka.

Noe Valley locals are foodies and have plenty of great dining options, so the fact that this place is always busy speaks for itself.

Most people come to Monk’s Kettle for the beer menu, which is several pages long, but they stay for the food.

Check out the Monk’s Burger, one of the better burgers in San Francisco, made with house-ground beef and dripping with gruyere cheese.

Dogs are welcome at the heated outdoor tables, where you and your pooch can people-watch as you enjoy your garlic and parm fries.
