Tieks Review (for 2021): Are Tieks Really Worth the Cost?

tieks reviews - are Tieks worth the cost?

Thinking of purchasing a pair of Tieks shoes but not sure if they’re worth the cost? This is my honest Tieks review after owning my first pair for three years and taking them around the world with me.

When I first came across Tieks by Gavrieli from one of the many Tieks reviews on the internet, I scoffed.

$200 for a pair of flats?! You’ve got to be kidding me.

I was 23, working as a bartender in New Zealand, and although they looked beautiful and versatile, I just couldn’t justify purchasing Tieks on a backpacker’s budget.

It took me four more years before I finally took the leap and purchased my first pair of shoes from Tieks.

If I’m being honest, I don’t think I had ever spent more than $30 on a pair of flats before I bought my Tieks.

I had also been a budget conscious traveler for a good six years and rarely purchased material things with hefty price tags because I always wanted that money to go towards my next trip.

So when I hit the purchase button on the Tieks website for the Pacific Green Tieks, my budgeting anxiety went through the roof.

Allbirds Review: Allbirds Tree Runners vs Allbirds Wool Runners

Ultimate Allbirds Review

My detailed Allbirds review after trying out the Allbirds Wool Runners and Tree Runners. As well as a quick look at every Allbirds shoe style to compare and contrast the right one for you.

Full disclosure: this post contains affiliate links, which help run this site at no extra cost to you so I can keep providing free travel advice and tips. I also received one complimentary pair of Allbirds shoes and bought a second pair for myself, but all opinions are my own.

When I first saw an Allbirds review on a New York lifestyle blog back in 2015, I was immediately drawn to the look and style of Allbirds sneakers.

Add in the fact that they were touted as the “most comfortable shoes in the world” and I knew they were at least a shoe brand I wanted to try out in the near future.

Fast forward five years (okay, so not that near in the future).

I found myself scrolling through the Allbirds website, mouth agape, as I looked at the many styles of shoes the brand now offered.

I had been following the company on and off for the past few years, but I was impressed by how many new styles and colors of Allbirds there were to choose from now.

After perusing the site for a while, I finally got two pairs to try out for myself – the Allbirds Wool Runners and the Allbirds Tree Runners.

There’s nothing more disappointing than investing in a quality pair of new shoes and then realizing you bought the wrong size.

You’ve not only spent a small fortune on these shoes (quality over quantity, right?), but you now have shoes that are basically unwearable because of how tight and uncomfortable they are.

This is what happened to me when I bought my first pair of Tieks flats.

Allbirds Tree Runners Review (2021) | My Favorite Travel Sneakers

Allbirds Tree Runners review

My honest Allbirds Tree Runners review! Find out why they’re my favorite style of Allbirds and whether they’re really as comfortable as people say.

Full disclosure: this post contains affiliate links, which help run this site at no extra cost to you so I can keep providing free travel advice and tips. I also received one complimentary pair of Allbirds shoes and bought a second pair for myself, but all opinions are my own.

I first came across Allbirds shoes back in 2015 on a New York lifestyle blog and I was immediately intrigued.

I had just finished living in New Zealand for a year (where Allbirds founder Tim Brown is from), and the shoes were touted as slip ons you can wear without socks that are equal parts comfy, warm, and stylish.

They sounded a little too good to be true with a price tag of only $95, but I kept my eye on the Allbirds brand for a few years.

I watched as they quickly took the sneaker market by storm in the US and internationally.

In 2020, I finally decided to get two pairs of Allbirds sneakers to test them out for myself and to see if the hype was justified.

I went for their two most popular runner styles – the Allbirds Tree Runners and the Allbirds Wool Runners

Although I plan to do a detailed post comparing both shoes, in this Allbirds shoes review, you’ll get the full rundown of the Allbirds Tree Runners because they’re my favorite of the two.

So, let’s dive into my full Allbirds review and why I think the Tree Runners are some of the most comfortable shoes for travel and an active lifestyle.

Looking for a detailed looks at all Allbirds styles? I wrote up a huge guide to every single Allbirds shoe on the market here.

12 Best Waterproof Walking Shoes for Women in 2021

best waterproof walking shoes for women

Don't let a little rain ruin your next trip! These are the best waterproof walking shoes for women that will keep you dry and comfortable no matter what the weather decides to do.

I don't know about you, but when I travel to a new place I walk everywhere.

It's my favorite way of getting around a new city and one of the best ways to get your bearings.

Not to mention, walking vs taking Ubers or even bikes everywhere, allows you to soak up the smaller details of a new culture. It allows you to breathe in all the smells, take in the sounds, and the beautiful or intriguing visuals in front of you at a slower pace.

That's why it's so important to have a good pair of walking shoes, especially waterproof walking shoes that will keep your feet dry even when you choose to travel during monsoon season in Asia.

Traditional rain boots are cute and all, but if you want to pack light (and I always recommend you do for smoother travel), they're just not a practical item to bring in your suitcase. They're bulky and not overly versatile like the following options are.

So, leave the classic rain boots and home and check out these practical and stylish waterproof shoes for every budget.
