Experience

As a writer and wild, outdoorsy woman, Jodelle Marx brings a unique blend of storytelling and humor to her work. She draws from extensive experiences growing up in rural Oregon and hiking everywhere she travels. Go for a hike with Jodelle, and she'll invite you to sit along the trail, painting.   Jodelle's hiked on four different continents. One of her favorite hikes to date was a solo hike in Vietnam, where she thought she might die by monkey (don't tell her mom, though).   When Jodelle's not chipping away at her 50 Hikes in a Year challenge, you can find her backpacking and camping, paddling around alpine lakes, bouldering, skiing, and workshopping upcoming performance poems. Her poems, stories, and essays have been published by the Aunt Flo Project, 101 Words, and Call Me [Brackets].

Education

Jodelle Marx earned her Bachelor's in Creative Writing from Pacific University, Oregon. Her academic background enriches her ability to offer helpful gear reviews and advice on outdoor activities.

Upcoming Projects and Goals

Currently, Jodelle is working on performance poems and gearing up for a summer of backpacking adventures. Her itinerary includes summiting South Sister in Bend, Oregon, embarking on a road trip through Utah, and trail riding through Yellowstone National Park.
