TL;DR: The best Halloween events in Sacramento are the Fairytale Town Super & Safe Halloween and the Sacramento Zombie Walk & Halloween Fair. For family-friendly Halloween fun, Fairytale Town offers trick-or-treating, contests and activities, while adults will enjoy the lively Sacramento Zombie Walk with its contests, vendors and music.

Sacramento is California’s state capital city, so it’s no surprise that it’s rich with festivities and excitement throughout the Halloween season.

The historic district in Sacramento dates back to the 1800s Gold Rush era, so these parts of town are spooky all year round.

For Halloween, however, the locals go the extra mile with numerous events to choose from every weekend throughout October.

Pick from kids’ costume parades to terrifying haunted houses, live performances, bar crawls, and everything in between.

Celebrate Halloween this year with this list of the best Halloween-themed activities in the Sacramento region.

I separated Halloween events based on scare level as well as age recommendations or requirements since each Halloween event is unique.

This way, you can easily find what excites you and get out to celebrate.
